Rochel ‘Russ’ Livernois
Memorial Scholarship Fund
In
2000, the Lisbon Credit Union developed a Scholarship Fund to
help our graduating seniors realize their dreams. Later that
year, one of our original founders, Rochel Livernois,
passed away. Mr. Livernois served as Treasurer/Manager from the
Credit Union's beginning in 1959 through 1985. The
scholarship fund
was renamed to honor his years of service and dedication.
Each
year, the Credit Union awards three $500 scholarships to local
high school graduates. The scholarships are awarded based on
academic
achievements as well as community involvement. Scholarship dollars
are paid directly to the schools after completion of their first
semester.
To
be eligible to apply for the scholarship program, a student must:
1. Be a graduating senior
2.
Be a Member of our Credit Union or a child of a Member
3. Have a High School GPA of 2.50 or higher
4. Be accepted to a 2 or 4 year accredited post secondary school
5. Studies must begin within 1 year of the award
Applications
are available online, at the Credit Union, or at the guidance
office of local high schools by February of each year.
The
Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union realizes the importance
of education and would like to assist three seniors each year in
achieving their academic goals. We encourage all qualifying seniors
to apply.
