New Director: Timothy F. Plummer

We are pleased to welcome Timothy F. Plummer to the Credit Union’s Board of Directors.

Timothy Plummer is a graduate of Lisbon High School and a 1971 graduate of Maine Maritime Academy.  Mr. Plummer has a 40 year professional background in marine and terminal operations, having recently retired as President of Tesoro Maritime Company of San Antonio, Texas.  During his 12 years with Tesoro, he was responsible for all shipping requirements for Tesoro Petroleum Corporation’s five Pacific Rim refineries.  Prior to working at Tesoro Maritime Company, he spent 7 years working for Alyeska Pipeline Service Company in Valdez, Alaska where he held a variety of positions including Terminal Marine Manager and SERVS Asset Manager.

Following the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill, Mr. Plummer was selected to manage the development and startup of the world’s most comprehensive oil spill prevention and response program.

Mr. Plummer served on the Board of Directors of the Marine Preservation Association for 13 years, of which he chaired for 4 years.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Marine Spill Response Corporation, the largest oil spill response organization in the United States.  He was recently appointed Chairperson of this organization. Timothy lives in Bowdoin, Maine with his wife Faye.

We are also very happy to announce that John L. Silvestri has been re-elected to serve a 5th term on our Board of Directors.

John Silvestri earned a B.S. degree from the University of Maine in 1976.  He was a manager for many years in Lisbon Falls at the wood fiberboard mill owned by U.S. Gypsum and Masonite.  Mr. Silvestri currently works for the Maine Department of Environmental Protection as the Deputy Commissioner. 

Mr. Silvestri has volunteered with the Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union since 2000, beginning as a member of the Supervisory Committee.  He was with the Committee until 2006, serving as chairperson from 2001 to 2006.  John was elected to the Board of Directors in 2001, and was elected Chairperson in 2010.  In his resume Mr. Silvestri writes, “I have enjoyed serving and would appreciate your vote so I can continue contributing to an outstanding organization - Lisbon’s Credit Union”.

Mr. Silvestri has volunteered with many area groups, servings on committees and boards for: Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce; Holy Trinity Parish; Town of Lisbon; Maine DEP; and Androscoggin County Local Emergency Planning Committee. John lives in Lisbon Falls with his wife Eileen and has two grown daughters.

Mr. Plummer and Mr. Silvestri were elected through a voting process that took place on March 3rd, at the Credit Union’s 54th Annual Meeting.
