VISA Debit Cards and CardValet

Members with a Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union checking account are eligible to apply for a VISA® Debit Card. The VISA® Debit Card provides a quick, safe, and convenient way to pay for products and services with all charges directly withdrawn from your Lisbon Community FCU checking account. Encounter none of the hassles that are present when you write checks. All purchases will appear on your monthly checking account statement, and there are no transaction charges when using your VISA® Debit Card to pay for purchases.

Your VISA® Debit Card is also an ATM card. Withdraw funds nationwide wherever you see the PLUS®, NYCE®, CU24®, or MEMBER ACCESS® sign. When used as an ATM Card, your VISA® Debit Card will be entitled to the following:

  • Unlimited FREE withdrawals at Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union ATM and over 200 SURF®* terminals statewide

  • Four (4) FREE withdrawals per month at any other ATM - a $1.00 transaction fee is charged for additional withdrawals

  • A standard withdrawal limit of $500.00 per day

  • A standard point of sale limit of $2,000 per day

  • A fee of $1.00 for all inquiries

For the purpose of determining daily limits for Debit Card withdrawals and Debit Card point-of-sale transactions, the daily cutoff time is 4:00 p.m. For example, transactions occurring between the 24-hour period beginning 4:00 pm on Friday and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday are part of one day’s total. Transactions occurring after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday would be counted towards the Saturday 4:00 p.m. to Sunday 4:00 p.m. “daily limit” period.

*As an added benefit, the Credit Union participates in the CU24® SURF® Network. This partnership with Maine Credit Unions allows our Members surcharge-free access to this ATM network throughout Maine. Automatic Transfers

At your Credit Union, we make service and convenience our #1 priority. We offer electronic transfers between accounts for our Members. Not only can we assist you with transferring from savings to checking, we can also make loan payments for you. These transfers can be set up between any type of account(s) you have with us at the frequency that works for your budget. Whether you want to deposit weekly to your holiday club or have us pay your First Mortgage with us, we can handle it all for you!

Automatic Response Teller (A.R.T.)

With this free service, Members can transact business 24 hours per day, 7 days per week by dialing (207) 353-5195 or toll-free at (888) 353-5195.

Many transactions can be done through A.R.T. including:

  • Account transfers

  • Deposit account inquiries to check balances, see if any electronic entries have been received, or to see if a check has cleared

  • Loan payments

  • Loan account inquiries

  • Obtaining tax information to assist you in preparing your IRS returns

Transactions are done safely and securely through A.R.T. A four-digit Personal Identification Number that you select is used to perform these transactions.

Shared Branching

What is Shared Branching?

Shared Branching is a convenient service that enables Members to conduct certain transactions at other participating credit unions. With over 120 locations in Maine and over 5,000 locations nationwide, credit unions have teamed up to share their offices in order to better serve the Members at large. You’ll be able to identify the credit unions participating by the CO-OP Shared Branching logo displayed in their lobbies or drive-up areas.

Here’s a list of local credit unions that participate: Atlantic Regional FCU, Central Maine FCU, Community Credit Union, Five County Credit Union (also available at Wal-Mart in Auburn), Midcoast FCU, and Dirigo (formerly Rainbow) FCU. What type of transactions can I do?

Through the Shared Branching network, Members are able to conduct the following transactions:

  • Cash or check deposits

  • Cash or check withdrawals

  • Cashing payroll checks

  • Loan payments

  • Transfer between accounts

  • Statement printouts

What account information do I need?

Members who participate in Shared Branching must provide the teller with:

  • The name of their home credit union

  • Their account number

  • A valid government-issued, unexpired photo ID such as a state driver’s license or U.S. passport

As a Member of Lisbon Credit Union, you are able to automatically take advantage of this secure, no-cost service without registering with the Credit Union beforehand.

Wire Transfers

Wire transfers are conducted when you want to electronically transfer funds from one financial institution to another.

Incoming Wires

Incoming wires are free of charge and can be used if you need funds deposited promptly into your Credit Union account. When requesting a wire transfer to Lisbon Credit Union, you will need the following information:

Wire to: Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union
Routing/ABA#: 211287984
Final Credit: Your name & account number

To ensure timely credit to your account, please notify the Credit Union of any incoming wires.

Outgoing Wires

We also offer the convenience of wiring funds from your Credit Union account to an account at another financial institution. We charge wire fees based on whether the wire is a domestic wire or an international wire. Wire requests received by 2:00 p.m. will be processed that same day.

The following information will be needed to process an Outgoing Wire transfer:

  • Receiving Institution's Wiring Requirements

  • Receiving Institution's Name

  • Receiving Institution's Routing or ABA#

  • Account # to be credited

  • Name on account to be credited

Recurring Wires: An authorization form is available for those Members who anticipate conducting recurring wires. For security purposes, this authorization form requires you to select a password that will be used to conduct wire transfers over the phone. If you would like to be set up to conduct recurring wires, please complete the Authorization Form and mail it to the Credit Union.

Direct Deposit

Don’t stand in line on payday to deposit your check! With Direct Deposit, your payroll, retirement, Social Security or other recurring checks can be electronically deposited into your Lisbon Credit Union account. There are no lunch hour lines, postal delays, or theft to worry about. The money is in your account the morning you are normally paid and ready to use.

To set up Direct Deposit, provide your employer or another payment provider with Lisbon Credit Union’s routing number/ABA#211287984.

To deposit funds to your Lisbon Credit Union checking account, provide your employer or another payment provider with your checking account number. This is the 12-digit set of numbers on the bottom of your check that begins with "700090". For simplicity and accuracy, you may want to provide them with a voided check for the account receiving funds.

To deposit funds to your Lisbon Credit Union primary savings account, provide your employer or another payment provider with your Lisbon Credit Union savings account number.

Once you establish Direct Deposit with your employer or other payment provider and the funds are being sent to Lisbon Credit Union, you can allocate the funds to go to your various Lisbon Credit Union accounts.

Notary Public

A Notary Public is a public officer who serves as an impartial witness to the signing of documents and to the acknowledgment of signatures on documents.

Notary service is available to all Members FREE of CHARGE. Notaries are available during business hours, and no appointment is necessary. To help us better serve you, please keep the following in mind:

  • DO NOT sign the documents that require notarizing until you are in the presence of the Notary

  • Bring proper identification with you

  • If the document requires more than one person to sign, ALL persons must be present

You should have already read the documents and know what you are signing or certifying. It is not the responsibility of the Notary Public to review and explain the documents to you. The Notary Public is simply certifying that YOU signed the document(s).

Signature Guarantee

Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union Signature Guarantee, available through the Securities Transfer Agents Medallion Program (STAMP), provides transfer agents and issuers of securities with certain assurances that the submitter of an instruction is an appropriate person to endorse or instruct them to process a transaction.

A Medallion Stamp is used to guarantee an endorsement on transactions involving a change in ownership or a liquidation of the following item:

  • Stocks

  • Bonds

  • Mutual Funds

  • Savings Bonds

  • Other investment vehicles that meet the definition of a security

NOTE: A change of name on a security is considered a change in investment and will require a Medallion Stamp.

To help us better serve you, please keep the following in mind:

  • DO NOT sign the document that requires a Signature Guarantee until you are in the presence of the Signature Guarantor.

  • Bring proper identification with you

  • Bring a copy of the most recent account statement for the security being liquidated

This service is available FREE to all our Members.

U.S. Savings Bonds

The Bureau of the Public Debt announced in 2011 that paper savings bonds were being replaced with electronic savings bonds and would no longer be available for purchase at financial institutions as of January 1, 2012. As a result, Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union no longer offers the sale of savings bonds.

Savings bonds may be purchased directly from the US Treasury at https://www.savingsbonds.gov/BC/SBCPrice.

For the convenience of our Members, US Savings Bonds may be redeemed at both our Lisbon and Lewiston locations.

VISA® Gift Cards

Always searching for the 'perfect' gift and never finding it? Lisbon Credit Union to the rescue!

We offer Visa Gift Cards for any occasion. Cards can be issued in any dollar amount you wish up to $1,000. A variety of designs are available ranging, from birthdays to holidays with everything in between.

Whether you are attending a wedding, baby shower, or shopping for a teen and have no idea what to buy, a Visa Gift card makes the perfect gift. The recipient can use them to purchase anything they want—your treat—wherever Visa is accepted in the United States.

All cards will have a five-year expiration period.

Register Your Card

It is extremely important to register your card immediately. This will provide you with the additional security required to allow you to use your card for internet or phone purchases, as well as requesting a replacement card in the event that it might be lost or stolen.

Register your card by visiting www.myprepaidbalance.com or by calling (866) 496-6183.

Note the complete card number, expiration date and amount of the gift card on your original receipt from the Credit Union. You will need to refer to this receipt should you need a replacement card. For your protection, sign the back of your card immediately.

Check Your Balance:

You can check your balance by calling (866) 496-6183 or by visiting www.myprepaidbalance.com

To Report A Lost Or Stolen Card:

Call the Credit Union at 353-4144 or Visa at (866) 496-6183 to report that your card has been lost or stolen. You MUST have registered your card and have the card number.

Tips for using your gift card:

At Stores:
Always select CREDIT when making a purchase. If your purchase exceeds the balance on the card, notify the clerk of the amount available and that you will pay the difference with another payment type. This is known as a ‘split tender transaction’.

At Gas Stations:
You will need to present the card to the attendant inside the gas station. Gift cards can not get authorizations at the pump.

At Restaurants:
Please be aware that restaurants often authorize an additional 20% gratuity charge to your bill. The actual charge will be the price of the meal plus any gratuity that you add.

These Cards Are Not Re-loadable.
Gift Cards CANNOT be used at ATM Machines.

Visa® gift cards are issued by MetaBank®, pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc.

FEE DISCLOSURE:
1.) One free Gift Card per month. $3.00 charge for each additional gift card within the same month.
2.) A $2.95 inactivity fee will be charged after 12 consecutive months of inactivity
3.) A $5.00 fee will be charged for a lost/stolen card replacement

Skip-A-Pay

Sometimes your budget needs a little breathing room. Maybe an unforeseen expense like a medical bill or car repair will strain it beyond your comfort zone. Or, maybe you know what’s coming, and you need the extra cash on hand for the holidays or a little pampering. Lisbon Credit Union understands, and we’ve designed Skip-a-Pay to help when you need it.

What is Skip-a-Pay? The Skip-A-Pay Program gives you the option to defer a monthly payment on an eligible Lisbon Credit Union Loan to the end of the loan. We advance your payment due date and your maturity date (for example on a 48-month loan, if one payment is skipped, you make 48 payments over 49 months) for a small fee. All without impacting your credit rating.

It’s that simple. Here’s How It Works:

The “Skip-A-Pay” request may only be applied once every calendar year and can only be processed after 6 months of any prior Skip-A-Pay.

  • A processing fee of $35.00 per loan payment skipped may be paid by cash, check or deducted from your savings or checking account.

  • If any loan to the Member has been over thirty (30) days past due in the last 12 months, the Skip-A-Pay request will not be approved, and the required payment is due.

  • The loan must have originated at least six (6) months prior to the date of the Skip-A-Pay request to be eligible.

  • Loan types eligible for Skip-A-Pay are: Autos, Boats, Campers, Travel Trailers, Motorcycles, Snowmobiles, ATVs, 4-Wheelers, Lawn and Garden Tractors, and Personal and Share Secured Loans.

  • Loan types ineligible for Skip-A-Pay are: Mortgages, Mobile Homes in a Park, Business Loans, Lines of Credit (including ODPs), and Visa Credit Card Loans.

  • Requests must be received no less than three (3) business days before the due date. Applications for payments made weekly or bi-weekly must be submitted thirty (30) days prior to the loan due date.

  • Borrower and all co-borrowers must sign this request form.

  • Interest will continue to accrue at the rate provided in the loan agreement during the skip period.

  • The maturity date will be extended on the loan when a payment is skipped. This means at least one extra payment for each payment skipped and an additional payment may be needed to cover interest accrued while payments have been skipped.

  • Payments made cannot be refunded.

  • If there is an automatic payment/transfer scheduled, the Credit Union will suspend the automatic payment(s) for a single month.

  • If GAP and/or Life and Disability Insurance were elected, the coverage will not be extended beyond the original maturity date.

  • All other terms and conditions of the loan remain the same.

  • Skip-A-Payments are subject to Credit Union approval and Member will be notified if not approved.
